South Indians are hardworking. They are proud of their culture and mother tongue.
The cultural heritage of India is preserved in the lands of South India, while the north had Arabic influence.

- 1. During the British rule, entire south India was referred to as madras presidency but then the old Madras state is dissolved and split into 5 major states(now). The city, Madras, is now renamed asChennai.

- 4. Politeness: It is quite usual in south India to address the auto drivers, delivery man, electricians, and likewise as ‘Sir’ which is often followed by a courteous ‘thank you’.

- 6. Women in general, are usually called ‘Maa’. From the milkman, security guard, college professor to even my manager at work, you will often be addressed as ‘Maa’.
- 7. The average height of the natives- Almost everybody is tall. I don’t know if it is food habits or just the genes.
- 8. Dress style- Girls wear a Kurti with leggings or a traditional suit and most of them wore a bindi on the forehead.
- 9. Geometrical rangolis of south- Love those. Rangoli is a beautiful part of most celebrations and are mostly geometrical art.
- 10. Simple lifestyle- People are extremely humble. A typical rich person who is capable of traveling in a private jet wears the same T-shirt for the majority of the month. Shocked? You bet I was.
